Dannatt, Johnson Architects is a vibrant London practice, established in 1994 (known as Trevor Dannatt and Partners before this) providing buildings for education, community, arts and leisure. We have a strong reputation for our work in adapting existing and historic buildings to new uses, supporting their on-going conservation and care, as well as providing entirely new buildings, often in highly sensitive, historically significant contexts. This work is supported by two of our Partners being Architects Accredited in Building Conservation.
Over the past three decades, we have enjoyed the privilege of working on some of the nation’s greatest and most significant public spaces and landscapes, including a varied portfolio of work carried out at two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We have worked with a number of London’s leading scientific and educational institutions, museums and galleries, with local authorities and large estates to realise their visions and unlock the potential of their sites and buildings.
Our work covers most aspects of building procurement: feasibility studies, master-planning, architectural design, project management and completion of buildings on site. The types of work include public and private buildings for a range of clients and a variety of uses: university and school buildings, community and the arts, service buildings and residential accommodation.
We have a wide and diverse range of experience of different types of project and aim to produce excellent architecture that meets our client’s needs and also delivers additional value. This could be in terms of performance; cost efficiency; sustainability; user or public engagement; organisational development; delivering on a communications agenda; or any of a host of other benefits that flow from developing a deep understanding of our clients and the challenges and opportunities they face.
Dannatt, Johnson Architects is an RIBA Chartered Practice with ISO 9001 accreditation, a copy of our quality policy is available on request. We are also one of the participating businesses in the Mayor of London’s Business Climate Change Challenge.
