Northwood College

DJA has carried out a number of projects at Northwood College, starting with a review of a master planning exercise for the school over 10 years. Projects have included a new Performing Arts Centre, multi-use Games Area and Early Years Centre. 

DJA’s designs for the Performing Arts Centre was developed in consultation with the school, providing a large drama studio, individual and group practice rooms, classrooms and a full orchestra recital room, together with staff and ancillary accom­mod­ation. All spaces achieve the high standards for acoustics in music facilities and provide the school with a significant new venue.

The new centre has been designed with a low pitched roof and with a horizontal emphasis to the elevations to respect the scale of the surrounding school buildings and semi rural quality of the site.
