Avery Hill, Landscape Masterplan

The master plan for the University of Greenwich Avery Hill Campus in South-East London was commissioned to explore the potential for expansion of the site to provide 10,000m2 of new teaching accommodation on this site in South-East London.

The site is comprised of a dense layout of pre-war and more recent buildings which lack any real focus.

The master plan seeks to introduce a new Campus or Collegiate feel through the planning of the new buildings around a series of carefully landscaped courtyard spaces and the proposals provide the potential for 10,000m2 of built space, the first phase providing for general teaching and academic use, sports teaching facilities and a 250-seat lecture theatre. Planning permission for the development was secured through close dialogue with the local planning authorities.
