Multi-Use Games Area, Northwood College

As part of the School’s masterplan and to comply with a condition of the planning approval for the Performing arts Centre, Dannatt, Johnson identified a site on the school campus that would provide a much needed all weather sports pitch in a location that had previously been underused and was in close proximity to the existing changing facilities.

A fenced and carpeted outdoor sports pitch was designed and specified that would allow the school to utilise it for the maximum number of different sports. The construction project was timed to coincide with the construction of the New Early years centre this allowed the pitch site to be utilised as a construction compound during the works and could be remediated to provide the new Multi Use Games Area on completion. The facility was opened in spring 2010.
