FOYER SEATING

The Barbican has recently opened new Cinemas to the public, adjacent to the Arts Centre in central London. Dannatt Johnson Architects were appointed to implement the Studioilse interior concept for the ‘Camera’ Café and the public Foyer – to bring the ‘Barbican DNA’ to the ritual of cinema.

A variety of comfortable spaces are set around the unique focal ticket and café counter. Banquette seating and bronze finish tables subtly reflect the materials and finishes of the Barbican; signature furniture and vintage movie poster wall nod to classic cinema.

CAFE

The café is divided to provide a variety of comfortable spaces for the visitor. The main dining area is softened by a backdrop of fabric drapes and large glittering mirrored coffers- reference to the materiality of cinema. A cosy lounge area overlooking Beech Street and communal tables give casual atmosphere and flexibility to the café which will provide interesting food offer throughout the day and a comfortable place for drinks in the evening. The experience is enhanced with a vintage photobooth capturing unexpected fun with friends, pre or post-cinema.
